MAY 21, 2007
The Mahoning Township Authority held the
monthly meeting on May 21 at 7:00pm. in the Mahoning Township
Municipal Building located at 1101 Bloom Rd., Danville, Penna..

regarding the Red Lane Sewer extension.
The April 16,
2007 minutes were approved as presented.
Operator report
Water use is up
and sewer use is down. Water report approved as read. Motion to
accept report made by Dave Barron seconded by Ed Draugelis.

A motion was
made by Dave Barron to accept the quote of $160.00 submitted by
Steve Shaffer.
Insurance
certificate must in order and be received from Mr. Shaffer before
work can be done.

A reduction in
the Security Letter of Credit for the Danville Associates, Woods of
Welsh/Whispering Meadows was approved as recommended by Project
Manager, Dale Heckman.
Sanitary Sewer
reduction amount of $168,847.15
Water System
reduction amount of $255,760.00
Total reduction of
$424,607.15
Total to remain
($955,233.16) Motion to accept reduction recommended by Dale
Heckmans’ letter of April 25, 2007 made by Ed Draugelis second Grier
Boedker.
Old Business
The Act 537 of
Mahoning Township is being researched by the Arro Group. The firm
will be contacted as to the progress.
County bill for
the Hess fields tap fee has not been paid as to date. Mr. Mertz
requests to send another reminder invoice to the Commissioners.
Michael Currid
has not paid the updated tap fee for the building on Woodbine Lane,
Danville.
A letter will
be mailed stating a lien will be filed against property unless paid
in full in (10) ten days Motion made by Ed Draugelis, second Grier
Boedker.
Mr. Mertz no
longer wants to accept payments in the Authority office. Our
Solicitor will be
contacted for
legality.
Danville
Ambulance had zoning permit issued without water or sewer permit.
There will be
observation of the buildings eventual use.
New Business
Brinjac
Engineering letter requesting information for Cooper Township.
All time
accumulated will be billed.
New tractor
quotes have been obtained. After considerable discussion, Dave
Barron motioned to accept the bid of $7291.89 from W. Welliver.
Motion to accept 26 hp liquid cooled
Scagg wildcat
tractor 52” cut.
Ed Draugelis
seconded.
A resolution
must be passed to purchase through Fleet services. Approved to pass
Resolution made by Dave Barron second Grier Boedker.
A new truck to
be purchased was discussed in detail. Motion to accept bid for 2008
F-350 with a Stahl body and dimensions power inverter from Day Fleet
was made by Grier Boedker and second made by Dave Barron. Truck cost
will be $41, 818.00 delivered to Authority with tags and fees
included.
A new car
purchase was discussed in detail. Tabled by Ed Draugelis. Second
Dave Barron.
The right to
know resolution will be sent to Mr. Bomboy
Financial
report reviewed and accepted.
Recommendation
was made by project manager, Dale Heckman, for the 500,000 gallon
water tank to be painted by Jayco Inc. of Mifflinburg, Pa. at the
quoted cost of $83, 800.00. The low bidder was Lehigh Valley Welding
of Nesquehoning, Pa.. They have no experience in the area of water
storage tanks. Grier Boedker motioned to accept the bid of Jayco,
Inc., Ed Draugelis seconded the motion.
Time off sheets
were read and approved. Motion to approve Dave Barron. Second Grier
Boedker.
All bills paid
motioned approved with the exception of Pitney Bowes. A call will be
made concerning finance and late fees. Dave Barron, Ed Draugelis
Unanimous.
