The Mahoning Township Authority held the monthly meeting on May 16, 2011 at 6:00pm at the Mahoning Township Municipal Building located at 1101 Bloom Rd., Danville, Pa..

Bids for sewer rehabilitation were opened.
Two bids received.

1. Inland Water Pollutions Control $264,990.00

2. New England Pipe Cleaning $208,989.00
     Will be sent to Dale Heckman, Project Manager for final review.

The minutes of April 18, 2011 were read and approved with the exception of the March and April Executive sessions pertained to Legal not personnel. Motion to approve Dave Barron, second Dick Jordan unanimous

Outstanding Authority Items
Red Lane paving: Quote to pave submitted by Gutelius. More bids to be submitted. Bret is to talk to Supervisors to have Red Lane possibly included in their project or separate bid from Meckleys.
Unanimous.

Generator approved to draw up specs and proceed. Approved Ed Draugelis, second Dave Barron

Grease traps: The Authority needs reports of each facility that has grease traps. An updated Resolution for grease traps will be drawn up by Solicitor. Motion to approve made by Ed Draugelis, seconded
Grier Boedker Unanimous.

Engineers report
Dukes root control will treat 2984 lineal feet of 8” pipe at the cost of $4744.56 and 357 lineal feet of 12” pipe at the cost of $685.44. Dale will be notified of approval. Motion to accept made by Grier Boedker second Dave Barron Unanimous.

Solicitors report
Alan Flenner went to Danville Borough for Discovery Items

New Business
Geisinger sent a letter of upcoming projects. Justin Drive calculations letter to be sent to William Berger at Larson Design Group. Notify Dale Heckman to send the letter. Unanimous

Borton-Lawson pertaining to the PBI project has insufficient information.

When the Hughes building is sold to Geisinger an I and I must be performed.
The Justin Drive building has surpassed the initial Tapping Fee calculation. An additional 11 EDU’s will be billed. Unanimous

A motion to update the Water and Sewer Tapping EDU’s according to the Engineers calculations was made by Dave Barron seconded by Dick Jordan. Unanimous

Minor changes to Water and Sewer Rate EDU’s. Unanimous.

Danville sewer bills motioned not to pay until corrections from the Borough are made. All other bills approved. Grier Boedker made motion Dick Jordan seconded the motion Unanimous.

The Danville Borough will be sent a letter regarding errors on the 4 th qtr. 2010
and 1 st qtr 2011 billings. According to Danville rate schedule

1. Nursing homes should be billed by rooms

2. Geisinger Ambulatory does not keep patients overnight, they treat and release. No laundry facilities or food preparation on site.

3. Geisinger McBride and Coles are warehouses only, not industrial.

4. Hess Therapy is not a medical office.

Certificates of Deposit are up for renewal. Board members will research rates.

Uni-tec offers services to compare PPL utilities bills for no cost. Dave Barron motions to have them review. Grier seconds the motion as long as there are no obligations to the Authority.
